Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

The SRTE Quality Engineering Manager provides direction to a team of quality engineers and oversight of the implementation and compliance of quality assurance requirements for a defense programs production agency facility. Thisfunction ensures that quality principles from NNSA NAP 401.1A, NQA-1, and DOE O 414.1E are integrated into production agency processes and facilities to promote communication, improvement, resolution, and mitigations to meet defense program mission delivery.

• Provide leadership and direction for institutional and weapon quality engineers and weapon quality program engineers.
• Develop departmental strategies to meet long term company objectives in weapon and institutional quality for an assigned facility/process.
• Ensure departmental training and qualification programs meet NNSA expectations and requirements.
• Coordinate with facility operations and engineering to achieve resolution and prevention of quality issues or nonconformances
• Communicate with federal and contractor customers and partners to promote transparency, improvements, and issue resolution in support of mission delivery
• Partner with other quality organizations in the nuclear security enterprise to improve processes and policies
• Provide timely communication to federal customers at SRS NNSA field office and division level headquarters on key performance elements and processes.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for NSE complex level teams for weapon quality.
• Ensure NNSA delegated authority requirements are met for weapon quality processes and activities.
• Provide oversight to ensure process integrity for acceptance of weapon product on behalf of NNSA.
• Support weapon quality management system (WQMS) development and implementation.
• Possess knowledge and experience with relevant policies/standards and ensure requirements are met for processes and operations. This includes but is not limited to:
• NNSA Weapon Quality Policy, NAP 401.1A
• Defense Programs Business Process System (DPBPS) SD 452.3-1A
• Applicable DOE Orders for nuclear weapon processes, quality assurance (e.g. DOE O 414.1E or current revision) and nuclear facility operations
• ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) standards

Required Qualifications

• Eight or more years of experience (YOE) as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed, OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus five or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus three or more year of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed
• Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
