SSO Engineer

Location: Denver, Colorado (On-site)

Alternate Location: Jacksonville, FL; Addison, TX

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) professional for the role of SSO Engineer. In this position, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure authentication and authorization services for the organization. This is a hands-on operational position requiring a robust background in IAM and hands-on expertise in Ping Identity products to ensure seamless and efficient access management across systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide SME-level consultation to SSO Integration and Engineering teams on the implementation of Authentication solutions, including configuration, customization, and integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide input for architect-level decisions and implement authentication solutions using PingFederate, PingAccess, PingDirectory, and other relevant tools.
• Design new features or improve existing ones, and identify process improvement opportunities for review and implementation.
• Ensure Authentication Services comply with industry standards and best practices, such as SAML, OAuth, FIDO2, and OIDC.
• Investigate and resolve Authentication Services-related issues, including authentication failures, token management, and user provisioning.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support to identify root causes and implement bug fixes when needed.
• Create detailed technical documentation for configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting guides using tools like Jira or Confluence.
• Handle a structured environment that can have brief periods of chaos, with priorities that can shift hour to hour.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as an IAM (SSO) Engineer, using PingFederate, PingAccess, and PingDirectory within a large corporate environment.
• Hands-on experience integrating applications using industry standards such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth, and FIDO2.

Technical Skills:

• Linux programming and fluency.
• Expertise in policy creation and implementation.

Soft Skills:

• Strong understanding of the processes and procedures within a large corporate environment.
• Aptitude and adaptability to manage shifting priorities.
• Ability to work as a self-starter and think several steps ahead.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Proven ability to execute projects independently and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is optional.
• Experience with policy fragments is a strong plus.
