Position Summary
Position Summary: The Student - Food Pantry Aide is responsible for providing support to the Student Services Division by assisting the Cochise Cupboard in maintaining the food pantry, keeping accurate records and providing customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:
Provide a clean, safe, and efficient operation of the food pantry.
Know and execute all food handling procedures.
Keep accurate records of the amount of student visitors to the food pantry.
Answer questions from students about food pantry services.
Provide timely communication to food pantry committee members at all times.
Assist in developing food pantry outreach and marketing of services.
Provide excellent customer service to all that visit the food pantry.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Education and Experience; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Requirements:
Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer
Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A or higher
Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
Knowledge of food handling procedures
Ability to work accurately, efficiently, effectively, and independently with all types of data
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail
Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment
Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate actions to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls.
Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important
