St. Michaels PE Teacher

Job Summary

St. Michaels School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join our team for one (1) day per week. The ideal candidate will inspire students to engage in physical activities, promote healthy lifestyles, and foster a love for fitness and sports. This position requires a passion for teaching, strong communication skills, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive environment for all students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging physical education curriculum that aligns with school standards and promotes physical fitness.
• Organize and lead various sports and physical activities for students of different ages and skill levels.
• Assess and evaluate student performance and progress in physical education, providing constructive feedback and support.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education with overall school programs and events.
• Maintain a safe and organized physical education space, ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and participation in physical education activities.
• Stay updated on current trends and best practices in physical education and youth fitness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field preferred.
• Valid teaching certification with a MA or MC endorsement
• Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
• Strong knowledge of physical fitness, sports, and health education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students to participate in physical activities.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
