Staff Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end close, and supporting financial reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records as needed.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Prepare sales tax, payroll, and other regulatory filings as required.
• Support the accounting team with special projects and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics) preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus.
