Staff Accountant- AP

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage factory and inventory payments, ensuring accurate 3-way match between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
• Collaborate with purchasing and other departments to resolve issues related to invoices and payments
• Investigate and help implement fraud detection practices related to vendor payments and system controls
• Participate in the development and rollout of automation tools and new technologies to improve AP processes and reporting
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns and international VAT/GST filings, and maintain the compliance calendar
• Support the month-end close process by reconciling AP subledger to the general ledger and ensuring cut-off accuracy
• Assist with external audits by preparing requested documentation and supporting schedules

Required Qualifications:

• 1-2 years' experience in Accounts Payable and General Accounting functions
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field, required
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel (including use of formulas/functions (VLOOKUP, IF, etc.), pivot tables, power query, and ability to sort and analyze data sets to identify errors)
• Confident working with internal and external customers
• Working knowledge of GAAP
