Job Summary We are seeking a knowledgeable Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will document the company’s financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and manage payroll. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and supporting schedules.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger analysis.
Prepare journal entries and month-end/year-end closing activities.
Assist with audit engagements, including testing transactions and preparing audit workpapers.
Support tax return preparation for individuals, corporations, partnerships, nonprofits, and housing entities.
Review invoices, expense reports, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
Prepare schedules and reports required by management and clients.
Assist clients with accounting inquiries and requests for financial information.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain organized electronic and physical client files.
Participate in client meetings and communicate professionally with clients and team members.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA certification is preferred.
0–3 years of accounting, audit, or tax experience.
Public accounting experience is a plus.
Required Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Yardi, or similar) is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
