Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional looking to build a long-term career in accounting and finance. The Staff Accountant will support the month-end close process, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with financial reporting while gaining exposure to all aspects of the accounting function.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries.
Perform monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
Prepare and maintain account schedules and supporting documentation.
Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
Prepare sales and use tax filings and other regulatory reports as assigned.
Assist with annual audits by gathering supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Perform additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
0–2 years of accounting experience (internship experience welcomed).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with ERP or accounting software is a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Internship or entry-level accounting experience.
Exposure to manufacturing, agriculture, distribution, or industrial environments is a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, NetSuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems is preferred but not required.
