Staff Accountant

Position Summary

Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Accounting Department by executing core accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end close and reconciliation processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and reclassifications, in compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts
• Support inventory accounting, including valuations and reconciliations
• Track and record capital project costs, fixed asset acquisitions/disposals, and related depreciation
• Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports
• Identify and recommend process improvements and opportunities for automation
• Manage issuance and tracking of company credit/debit cards
• Oversee vehicle and truck registrations
• Prepare and file sales tax returns
• Support ad hoc accounting projects and requests as needed

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 3 5 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
• Experience with manufacturing accounting, including inventory and standard costing, is a plus
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
