Description & Interest BR&E is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to perform a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping duties for a group of diverse family-owned businesses in the Bryan, Texas area.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review general ledger transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly journal entries Assist with the preparation of supporting schedules for federal and state tax returns Assist with business expense analysis and cost-cutting initiatives Prepare monthly financial reports for internal use Monitor and reconcile credit card balances Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation Provide clerical and administrative support for special projects and other duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Characteristics
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise Proficiency in Microsoft Office Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
