Staff Accountant for Non-Profit in New Jersey

My client, a non for profit located in Caldwell, New Jersey is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their firm. The firm has been in existence since the 1930’s and offers significant opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

Review and analyze budget, identifying budget issues and providing solutions.
Assist with month, quarter and year end closing responsibilities including journal entries and reconcilaitions
Monthly reconciliations
Act as backup for Accounts Payable
Projecting financial trends including annual forecasts
Assist with preparation of operating and salary budget
Monitoring of annual grants and transactions in compliance with fund requirements
Maintain accounting records for endowment and restricted and unrestricted funds
Assist with audit preparation

Experience Preferred for the Staff Accountant

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance a plus
Non-profit experience a plus
Experience with Jenzabar major plus
Excellent communication skills & attention to detail

Compensation
$30.00-35.00 commensurate with experience
