Salary/Hourly Rate: $65k - $80k DOE
Position Overview: The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations for a multi-entity organization. This Staff Accountant role is ideal for someone with strong property accounting experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking for long-term career growth. The Staff Accountant will work closely with leadership and internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Maintain the general ledger and support financial reporting.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze variances.
- Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with audit preparation and external audit requests.
- Work cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure accurate financial information.
- Support process improvements and other accounting projects as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the accounting team.
Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:- 3+ years of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPs, and formulas.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:- Experience in commercial real estate, multifamily, property management, or other property accounting environments.
- ERP system experience.
- Multi-entity accounting experience is preferred.
- Property accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
- Experience supporting audits and improving accounting processes.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
