Position Overview:
MD&A is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team in Clifton Park, NY. This position will play a key role in supporting accounting operations, customer invoicing, collections, financial reporting, inventory activities, and month-end close processes while collaborating with finance and operations teams across multiple U.S. locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and manage customer invoicing activities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Follow up on outstanding payments and support collections efforts.
Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams for invoicing, shipping, and order-related issues.
Assist with monthly financial close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
Assist with customer returns (RMA process) and related accounting activities.
Participate in inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts.
Review and process employee expense reports through SAP Concur.
Support internal and external audit requests.
Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement accounting efficiencies.
Utilize ERP systems and technology tools to improve reporting accuracy and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, invoicing, or month-end close activities.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience working with ERP systems.
Preferred:
Experience with Epicor/Kinetic, SAP, or similar ERP platforms.
Power BI experience.
Experience supporting inventory processes and cycle counts.
Experience in multi-location business environments.
Bilingual Spanish skills.
Experience supporting audits and process improvement initiatives.
