Staff AccountantI am partnered with a $200M alcohol and beverage wholesaler and distributor on a Staff Accountant opening. Our client has been around for over 20 years and has built the brand globally in Asia, Europe and North America with six successful brands and over 80 different countries with their products.Our client is looking for an up and coming Staff Accountant to join their established accounting function in the Highland Park, IL office. This role will work alongside the team of eight and gain exposure across all aspects of accounting including AP/AR, month end close, audit and financial statements.Job DescriptionManage day-to-day accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Execute accurate and timely reporting during the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.Process a high volume of vendor bills while keeping vendor records up-to-date.Assist with budget preparation and monthly departmental reporting.Reconcile daily cash activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve variances promptly.Process and research into customer rebates and deductions, escalate when necessary.Review monthly employee expense reports in accordance with company policySupport external audits and provide requested schedules and documentation.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies in a growing environment.Perform special projects and other accounting duties as assignedMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
