About the Staff Accountant Role

The Staff Accountant will support general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and close activities. Reporting to an accounting leader, this position will work closely with a small finance team and collaborate with departments across the organization.

The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, maintain account schedules, assist with audits, and support selected compliance and operational accounting activities. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values accuracy, and wants exposure to the full accounting cycle.

Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

  • Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding differences

  • Maintain prepaid expense schedules and record monthly amortization

  • Assist with fixed asset activity, including additions, disposals, and depreciation

  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for assigned business areas

  • Review selected payroll and accounts payable activity for accuracy and completeness

  • Support audit requests, compliance reporting, and process improvement projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; Finance or Business Administration may also be considered

  • Approximately 2–5 years of accounting experience

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and lookup functions

  • Understanding of debits, credits, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting

  • Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting

  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills

  • Self-motivated, accountable, and willing to take on new responsibilities
