Staff Accountant Position Overview

This Staff Accountant will be involved in a wide range of accounting responsibilities, providing excellent exposure to the full accounting cycle and the opportunity to grow alongside the organization.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities

• 
  
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• 
  
• Prepare and post journal entries
• 
  
• Complete balance-sheet and general-ledger reconciliations
• 
  
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• 
  
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• 
  
• Support financial reporting and account analysis
• 
  
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• 
  
• Help prepare schedules and documentation for audits
• 
  
• Maintain fixed-asset and prepaid-expense schedules
• 
  
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
• 
  
• Partner with other departments to research and resolve accounting questions
• 
  
• Take on additional accounting responsibilities as the company grows
• 
  

Staff Accountant Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 
  
• One or more years of accounting experience preferred
• 
  
• Understanding of general accounting principles and the month-end close process
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• 
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• 
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• 
  
• Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
