Staff Accountant

Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Compensation: $45,000- $55,000
Schedule: M-F | Full time

What You'll Do

Accounts Payable & Intercompany Transactions

• 
  
• Manage incoming and outgoing intercompany invoices, with a volume of up to approximately 500 invoices per month
• 
  
• Verify invoices and perform 3-way matching
• 
  
• Process payments and ensure transactions are accurately recorded
• 
  
• Handle transactions involving multiple currencies and understand how currency conversions impact entries
• 
  
• Manage the AP inbox and respond to vendor inquiries
• 
  
• Maintain accurate and timely intercompany accounting records
• 
  

General Ledger & Month-End Close

• 
  
• Prepare and post journal entries
• 
  
• Perform account reconciliations
• 
  
• Support the month-end close process
• 
  
• Assist with maintaining accurate general ledger accounts
• 
  
• Apply accounting principles and GAAP knowledge to daily accounting activities
• 
  

Qualifications

Required:

• 
  
• At least 1 year of accounting experience, including invoice entry and journal entries
• 
  
• Basic understanding of foreign currency transactions and currency conversions
• 
  
• Understanding of GAAP
• 
  
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 
  

Preferred:

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 
  
• Experience working with balance sheets, income statements and general ledger accounts
• 
  
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
•
