Description
Staff Accountant
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Compensation: $60,000–$80,000 (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Full-Time
About the Role
An organization in the Grand Rapids area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation and enjoys working with financial reporting, reconciliations, and year-end accounting activities.
Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries.
Maintain the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end close.
Prepare financial statements and supporting workpapers.
Support year-end tax preparation and compliance activities.
Research accounting and tax-related issues as needed.
Assist with annual audits and external reporting requirements.
Analyze financial data and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
Knowledge of GAAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
