The Staff Accountant will join a team consisting of Director, Manager, and Sr. Staff Accountant in the Finance Office who will monitor, analyze and report on all University government and private grants.
Position reports to the Manager of Grant Accounting & Compliance, and performs accounting functions in accordance with established regulatory policies to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting of federal, state, local, and private funded grants to the University. The Staff Accountant should have the ability to read and interpret Federal, and State regulations. Will become familiar with internal Pace policies and procedures, articulate and update these requirements as needed.
Provides management/fiscal support of grant awards to Principal Investigators and Business Managers in the schools in a professional manner. Prepares interim and final financial reports for timely submission to external granting agencies, includes final reconciliation and close-out of awards and updating internal database. Works with grant team and Assistant Controllers to prepare annual Single Audit work papers. May have contact with Provost and Deans.
Position Duties:
Communicates with Business Managers and Principal Investigators answering finance/compliance questions in timely and professional manner, attends departmental meetings and interacts with Finance staff and Office of Sponsored Research personnel as needed. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting sponsored research; ability to apply this knowledge. Maintains knowledge of internal Pace policies and procedures, articulates and updates these requirements for all relevant staff. Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Supervision Exercised: No supervision will be exercised.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed.
