Staff Accountant - Growing Contruction Co

Position: Staff Accountant
Location: Worcester Massachusetts On site/Norwell On site (if based out of Norwell will have to commute to Worcester 1 day/week.
Compensation: $75,000-90,000 plus bonus

The Staff Accountant’s Responsibilities

• 
  
• Support the monthly close process including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• 
  
• Assist with general ledger maintenance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• 
  
• Support project accounting activities including cost tracking, billing support, and coordination with operations teams.
• 
  
• Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements, audits, and lender or sponsor reporting as needed.
• 
  
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes.
• 
  
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support accounting system enhancements as the organization scales.
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 
  
• Experience: One to three plus years of accounting experience, preferably within construction, project based services, or a similar operating environment.
• 
  
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
• 
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to work accurately with detailed data.
• 
  
• ERP system experience preferred, particularly within job cost or project accounting environments.
