Our client, a growing and stable organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while helping maintain accurate financial records and supporting business decisions.
Prepare and post journal entries.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet accounts.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
Support audits and respond to requests from internal and external auditors.
Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Assist with special projects and ad hoc accounting requests.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
Experience with general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with month-end close and budgeting/forecasting.
Prior exposure to AP, AR, or fixed assets.
CPA or CPA track preferred but not required.
Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or service-based environment is a plus.
Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
