Overview:

​​​​The Staff Account will support the monthly close process by performing key accounting activities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. This role provides essential execution support to ensure the timely and reliable completion of financial statements for Joy Baking Group. The position plays a critical role in maintaining strong internal controls and supporting a smooth, efficient close process that enables accurate reporting and informed decision-making across the organization.​​​

Responsibilities:
  • ​​Create and maintain item master data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements
  • ​Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation, ensuring all entries are complete, accurate, and properly reflected in the general ledger
  • ​Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations monthly, identifying, researching, and resolving variances in a timely manner to ensure financial integrity
  • ​Support fixed asset accounting activities, including tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation, while ensuring proper classification and adherence to accounting policies
  • ​Assist with project and capital expenditure (CapEx) accounting by monitoring project costs, validating supporting documentation, and ensuring accurate capitalization of assets
  • ​Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring proper elimination of entries and timely resolution of discrepancies between entities
  • ​Maintain organized and well-documented workpapers, schedules, and supporting files to facilitate internal reviews and external audit requests

  • ​Must be highly motivated, able to follow direction, and perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision  
  • ​​​Must be able to speak, listen, and effectively communicate with team members both verbally and in writing  
  • ​​​Must be able to work collaboratively within the department and with multiple departments within the company  
  • ​​​Strong organizational skills and ability to analyze / interpret technical information, mathematical concepts, and form conclusions  
  • ​​​Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, including expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences  
  • ​​​Involves extensive computer systems/software operation and regular use of office equipment   
  • ​​​Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects  
  • ​​​Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers  
  • ​​​The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.​​
Qualifications:
  • ​​​Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • ​1-3 years of accounting experience preferred, however new grads with strong academic records are encouraged to apply
  • ​Strong Excel skills; Power BI familiarity is a plus
Pay Range: USD $55,000.00 - USD $60,000.00 /Yr.
