Overview of the role:
- Responsible for accurate preparation of complex journal entries such as revenue, cash, assets, AR, AP, accruals, interest, depreciation, amortization, pledge receivables
- Assist with preparation of reconciliations after month end close
- Maintain work papers that support the general ledger account balances
- Help with monthly and semi-monthly payroll
- Assist with accounting close and the analysis of budget variance
- Review and post accounts payables, student, contributions, and gift receipts for approval
- Assist with annual audit support
- Track asset and inventory
- Assist with ad hoc data for audit
- This role reports directly to controller
- Responsible to ensure accounting is in accordance with GAAP
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Would consider a new grad with an internship
- 1-5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Previous AP experience
- CPA or working towards CPA but not required
- Great communication, organized, ability to work independently
- Proficient in excel
Yearly Compensation $60,000 - $80,000 plus benefits
