A successful Staff Accountant must be detail oriented, a self-starter, and have excellent organizational skills. This position requires a high level of correspondence with our sales force, customers, and vendors. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must. Must be strong in Excel and other Microsoft applications, and must be able to work well with others in a fast-paced, growth environment. ResponsibilitiesGeneral accounting including creating and posting journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations & bank reconciliationsSupport month-end activities and year-end close processFinancial statement analysis and reviewAssist with audits, as necessaryManage manufacturer commission payments in project management systemCreate management reports as neededResearch accounting issues and provide possible solutionsOther duties and special projects as assigned.Approve vendor invoices for posting to Accounts PayableGenerate customer invoicesProcess employee expense reportsOther duties and special projects, as definedThe Required ProfileBachelor's degree in accounting or related field, experience a plusProficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and accounting systemsAttention to detail, accuracy and confidentialityAbility to communicate with other company associatesUnderstanding of percentage of completion accountingOther Skills & AbilitiesLanguage SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
