Staff Accountant I

The Staff Accountant I is responsible for updating and evaluating for reasonableness the information presented in financial statements, narratives, and other accompanying schedules to the financial statements for any reporting entities assigned. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Pay: $28.85-30.77/hour

Duties

• Reconcile bank accounts accurately and in a timely manner, with attention to unusual items that remain outstanding at month end.
• Perform research on historical accounting transactions. Reconcile differences between A/P or A/R modules and G/L module.
• Prepare periodic financial statements (as directed by the Accounting Manager) within assigned time limits and accuracy standards.
• Create relevant and current explanation of financial statements in a narrative format for any financial statements released to users.
• Prepare financial statement related reports.
• Perform reporting required by outside agencies.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and schedules for annual audit.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 1-2 years of accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in public or industry accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
