Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantLocation: Irvine, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Industry: Technology Compensation: $70,000 – $85,000 base + bonus

About the Role Our client, a growing technology company based in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This is a hands-on role supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to build their accounting career, and ready to contribute in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Support preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with account variance analysis and provide supporting documentation to senior team members
• Support audit preparation, including gathering documentation and support schedules for external auditors
• Assist with intercompany transaction reconciliations
• Help maintain and follow internal controls and accounting procedures
• Collaborate cross-functionally with AP/AR, FP&A, and other departments
• Assist with ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–4 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally within a technology or SaaS environment
• Working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP); experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a hybrid environment
