We believe this creates a positive, respectful, service-minded culture.About the roleThis position is a mix of:Outsourced accounting for small business clients (monthly close, maintaining clean books, supporting client needs)Tax compliance and planning support (quarterly estimates, projections, light planning with opportunity for more)More in the "What You'll Do" section belowWe're creating this role so the owner (CPA) can delegate more day-to-day work and help the team scale.What you'll doKeep client books accurate and up to date (including cleanup work as needed)Seek out (or at least document opportunities) to streamline tasks using automation and AISupport business and personal income tax compliance for clients and ownersPrepare quarterly estimates and assist with tax projections/planningHelp convert clients from desktop accounting software to Xero or QBOPreparation of annual 1099 formsTroubleshoot Xero, QBO and Gusto issues for our clientsCommunicate with clients clearly, timely, and proactivelyWhat we're looking for1–2+ years of accounting and tax experience , including working knowledge of financial statements and business/personal income taxationDisciplined curiosity : you enjoy exploring better ways to do things and using technology to work smarterStrong communicator : responsive, thorough, proactive—communication is a core value hereTeam player : collaborates well and values shared successService mindset & great attitude : you genuinely want to help small business ownersProblem-solver : you look for ways to add value (automation, apps, process improvements)How we workNo billable-hour culture driving everythingWe bill clients on monthly retainers and/or fixed feesYou'll have autonomy, space to be creative, and a real “seat at the table”We collaborate often and value your ideasMinimal (if any) overtime during tax seasonAnnual salary range = $60,000 - $70,000100% paid health, dental, and vision insurance for all employees3% 401(k) match$100/month stipend for home internet and cell phone usageAccess to the best cloud accounting and practice management software on the marketLocationPrefer in-office (Lafayette, LA).
