LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a technology client in Troy, MI in their search for a Staff Accountantto join their team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong growth potential.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Work Model: Hybrid after initial training period

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting core accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a technology-driven environment and enjoys working with data, systems, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting
  • Analyze financial data and identify variances or discrepancies
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
  • Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation
  • Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting experience (staff accountant or similar role)
  • Strong understanding of general ledger and month-end close processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc. preferred)
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
