(Management-level Finance and Accounting)POSITION : Full-time, Salary Exempt EmployeeSALARY : $48K - $55K annual salary commensurate with experienceBENEFITS SUMMARY : An employee who is working 30 hours or more may enroll in our insurance plan(s) which are medical, vision, and dental. We also offer a retirement savings plan (e.g., an individual IRA account). Any employee may enroll once they are working 30 hours or more. However, only after one (1) year with our firm will we pay 25% of the insurance, then after 2 or more years, we pay 50% of it. An employee would begin to accrue paid holidays if they are full‑time (30 hours or more) however paid sick and vacation will only accrue after six (6) months of employment and a satisfactory attendance record. Other benefits may apply.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We're looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, detail-oriented CPA/Staff Accountant who will be our small business Corporate Controller. That means new ways of thinking and an innovative vision for integrating our systems for maximum efficiency. As someone who keeps a close eye on mission‑driven companies, you know it's about more than just the bottom line. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CPA/Staff Accountant will be responsible for defining and executing world‑class accounting and financial reporting practices, internal controls, and adherence to GAAP and SOX Compliance. Working independently and/or closely with team members across the organization(s) you'll provide technical accounting guidance that impacts the framework of controls for the entire company, helping us streamline processes and software solutions so that we can spend less time tabulating the data and spend more time connecting the data dots for real‑time decision making. You will oversee our organization's daily accounting operations, including the accounting, collections, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable departments. You will also help guide our strategic financial decisions and therefore play an integral part in the financial health and growth of our firm(s). The perfect candidate would also have the skills to manage all financial and accounting engagements from start to finish and have some experience with government contracting (not required). You will ensure that all state and federal laws and regulations regarding financial practices are followed closely, and assist with management in the controller's department.ResponsibilitiesGuiding financial decisions by developing and monitoring policies and procedures.Administrating and staying updated with all new laws and policies related to accounting, payroll, taxes, and financials.Evaluating and enhancing financial controls, annual corporate budget(s), and tax return procedures.Analyzing and interpreting balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and liabilities.Performing internal audits and financial risk assessments, as well as facilitating intervention strategies.Preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and reports, as well as reviewing journal entries and account reconciliation.Monitoring closing processes, billing, invoicing, expenses, reimbursements, and payroll administration.Maximizing returns on excess cash balances and improving closing and reporting cycles.Monitoring the company's metrics via our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Coordinating and recording investments and maintaining fixed asset records.Overseeing financial and accounting staff and analyzing profit center performance metrics.Documenting processes and ensuring compliance with financial management and accounting regulations.Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff as well as other administrative or managerial staff.Coordinating activities of external auditors/CPAs.Monitoring and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and/or regulatory rules, including implementation of any changes.Assisting with monthly reports, RFPs, various proposals, annual business plans, management agreements, lease, and addendum projects for the entire portfolio.Monitoring and assisting with collections for our clients and the company.Other duties as assigned by the CEO.QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field.Master's degree with a focus on corporate financial management is preferred.Active CPA or equivalent is preferred.At least 2 years experience as a financial administrator, or similar.Advanced competency in financial management and accounting software (QuickBooks Online REQUIRED), such as Idu‑Concept and FreshBooks.Strong communication skills, client service driven, and eagerness to learn and always improve.Natural interest in business and advising businesses and business owners.Excellent oral and written communication skills sufficient to compose and deliver responses to customers' complex questions clearly and concisely.In‑depth knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations.Extensive experience in corporate finances, auditing, and performance management.Superb organizational and time‑management abilities.Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.Willingness to roll up their sleeves to get the work done.Results‑driven individual to oversee our financial operations and managerial needs.Ability to perform financial planning, optimize financial processes, and prepare budgets and reports.Demonstrate an in‑depth knowledge of financial management principles and extensive experience in a similar role.Expertise that translates into optimized financial operations and increased profitability.Job Type : Full‑time401(k)Health insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus opportunitiesCommission pay#J-18808-Ljbffr
