Job Summary
The Accountant prepares, analyzes and reviews financial statements using accounting principles in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and enterprise allocation methods.
Requirements
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. If degree is in Finance, successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II required.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
CPA preferred
EXPERIENCE
Minimum three (3) years' accounting experience. OR applicable Masters in related field with minimum one (1) years' experience.

Responsibilities
- Analyzes and reviews financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Assists in special projects, as directed.
- Assists with financial reporting audits, working with the internal audits, Arkansas Insurance Department, independent auditors, and/or Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
- Performs advanced accounting functions, including but not limited to preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounting analysis and reconciliation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Prepares supporting financial data as required.
- Reconciles, confirms and maintains general ledger accounts.
- Reviews the work of peers providing coaching and mentoring to less experienced accountants.
