Client Overview:
We are partnering with a full-service property management company. They are currently looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$55k - $65k

Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will support full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of community association accounts. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financials and ensuring timely monthly reporting using the accrual method of accounting.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
  • Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and produce monthly financial statements for association accounts.
  • Post assessments, capital contributions, and other fees.
  • Prepare monthly invoices and statements, post interest and/or late fees to delinquent accounts, and perform soft collections.
  • Ensure all payments are posted accurately.
  • Pay vendors and prepare checks.
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Verify vendor documentation, including Certificates of Liability and W-9 forms.
  • Support auditors with appropriate documentation, reports, and adjustments.
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
  • Accrual method accounting and preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • CINC software experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of prepaid schedules and payables.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Tracking budget expenses and analyzing information.
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness, and time management.
  • Vendor relationship management.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
  • Experience with community association or property management accounting.
  • High-volume accounting environment experience.
Education Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, or the equivalent in experience, is required.
