Day-to-day activities will be executed with guidance and direction from accounting management relative to overall college goals and objectives to be achieved. The exercise of sound accounting principles and good judgment is a must.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES Reconciling grants and bank statementsPreparing and analyzing general ledger account reconciliationsVerifying the accuracy of dataIdentifying, reporting and correcting errors timelyOrganizing and updating financial recordsSupporting month-end and year-end close processPreparing documents for external auditorsAssisting with accounting projects as assignedOther duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 2-3 years of experience as an accountantBS degree in accountingMicrosoft Excel experienceGreat Plains and/or Colleague experience preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Excellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be efficient and demonstrate effective analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detailMust demonstrate understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principlesWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands to handle, or feel to talk and to hear.
