Staff Accountant

In this hands-on role, the Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions which can include but not limited to daily reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, account postings, invoicing, payables. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, as well as a keen attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will be asked to work on-site 

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• 5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
• Solid understanding of Corporate Income Tax
• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
• Prepare state and federal tax returns
• Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
• In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
• Experience with organizing and "chasing receivables" on a weekly and monthly basis 
• Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
• Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
• Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
• Basic understanding of purchasing and supply chain procedures
• SAGE?timberline experience a plus
• Experience with AIA contract billing
