In this role, you will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close processes, account reconciliations, general ledger management, multi-state sales tax compliance, tangible personal property tax reporting, state registrations, annual reports, business licenses, fixed asset licensing, out-of-country business reporting, and acquisition-related reporting while working closely with accounting leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger & Month-End Close: Assist with month-end and year-end close cycles, preparing standard journal entries, accruals, and supporting workpapers.Account Reconciliations: Perform regular bank, balance sheet, intercompany, and subledger reconciliations; research and resolve variances in a timely manner.Financial Operations: Support accounts payable, billing, and asset tracking processes to ensure subledger accuracy.Multi-State Sales Tax & Tangible Personal Property Tax Compliance: Support sales tax filings, tangible personal property tax reporting, reconciliations, exemption certificate tracking, and related documentation across multiple states.Annual Reports, State Registrations & Business Licenses: Assist with preparing, filing, renewing, and maintaining annual reports, state registrations, business licenses, and related compliance records.Fixed Asset Licensing: Maintain fixed asset licensing records, support related registrations, renewals, reconciliations, and reporting.Out-of-Country Business Reporting & Acquisitions: Assist with required reporting, documentation, and coordination for business activities and acquisitions conducted outside the United States, including support for compliance records and external advisor requests.Reporting & Analysis: Prepare financial datasets, preliminary trial balances, and supporting schedules for variance analysis and compliance-related reporting.Process Improvement: Assist in identifying opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, tax and compliance tracking, and data accuracy.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.Experience: 1–3 years of core corporate accounting experience; experience supporting multi-state sales tax, compliance filings, business licenses, or fixed asset licensing is preferred.Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with multi-state sales tax filings, tangible personal property tax requirements, annual reports, state registrations, business license renewals, exemption certificates, and related documentation preferred.International Reporting & Acquisitions: Exposure to out-of-country business reporting, foreign activity documentation, acquisition-related reporting, or coordination with external tax/compliance advisors is a plus.Technical Skills:Proficiency in enterprise accounting software/ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Jonas is a plus).Strong Microsoft Excel skills (lookup formulas, pivot tables, and data reconciliations).Core Competencies: Solid understanding of GAAP, high attention to detail, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to meet deadlines during close cycles.Hiring ProcessOur hiring process is a multi-step process designed to evaluate both technical qualifications and overall team fit.
