Senior Staff Accountant (Media & AdTech) – NYC Hybrid
We’re partnering with a fast-growing, design-forward Digital Media/ AdTech company to hire a Staff Accountant to join their New York City team. This is a hybrid role, working with a sharp minded crew in a modern office.
This role is ideal for an Accountant with 0-2+ years of experience; and or CPA-eligible candidates are encouraged to apply. We are looking for someone "ready, willing, and able," EAGER TO LEARN, taking ownership quickly, and growing fast in a creative, tech-driven environment. You’ll get hands-on experience with a high-growth, venture-backed business.
Support monthly and quarterly close, including preparing and posting journal entries.
Reconcile balance sheet and P&L accounts and investigate variances.
Work directly with finance and sales teams to validate revenue, sales numbers, and related accruals.
Help maintain and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation as the company scales.
Assist with audits and support ad hoc analysis and special projects.
Get deep into systems and data -- pulling reports, manipulating datasets, and building better ways to see the numbers.
0 - 2+ years of accounting experience (recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply).
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (debits/credits, accruals, revenue/expense recognition).
Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new tools and platforms; prior exposure to modern ERPs or BI tools is a plus.
Confident in Excel: pivots, lookups, filters, and working with large data sets.
Curious, coachable, and eager to learn -- someone who asks smart questions and wants to understand the “why” behind the numbers.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
Strong communicator who can work cross-functionally with sales, operations, and other non-finance partners.
