Description
What will you be doing?
The Staff Accountant supports the Controller in executing daily and monthly accounting functions. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with tax and audit requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to upholding the financial integrity of the hotel.
Description
Assist in preparing reports that summarize, forecast, and analyze hotel business activity and financial position.
Assist with cashier audits and ensure accuracy.
Complete Daily Income Journal Reconciliation balancing to PMS / POS Reports
Prepares month-end journal entries for Assistant Controller / Controller review
Provide support for accounts payable during vacancies or absences.
Perform various accounting office tasks as assigned.
Distribute weekly General Ledger detail reports to department managers.
Review and reconcile contract labor in Work Records if applicable
Process individual Travel Agent commissions and submit to TACS / AP.
Balance A/P Open Items report weekly before check runs.
Review Tax Exemptions

Education & Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of related progressive experience in related field.
Experience working in hospitality industry preferred

For applicants who will be working in NYC, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, work location, etc. Crescent Hotels is a multi-state employer and the salary ranges indicated herein may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
