About the Opportunity
Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking a Non-Profit Accountant with strong grant accounting experience to support financial reporting, compliance, reconciliations, and fund management. This role partners with program teams and leadership to ensure accurate grant reporting and financial accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Manage grant accounting, including budget tracking, expense coding, allocations, and financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, funding requirements, and internal policies.
Prepare monthly financial reports, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
Support month-end and year-end close, including general ledger review and fund accounting activity.
Monitor grant expenditures against approved budgets and communicate trends, risks, or funding issues.
Assist with annual audits, Form 990 support, and grant-related documentation requests.
Partner with program managers and leadership to provide financial insight and reporting support.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
Required hands-on experience with grant accounting and grant compliance reporting.
Knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting, GAAP, and restricted/unrestricted fund tracking.
Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
Strong Excel skills; experience with nonprofit accounting software preferred.
Preferred Experience
CPA or CPA-track, experience with federal/state/foundation grants, knowledge of Uniform Guidance, and familiarity with systems such as Blackbaud, MIP, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
