The Staff Accountant supports the Finance Department by assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations, grant tracking, accounts payable support, and month-end close activities. This role works closely with senior accounting staff to ensure accurate financial operations and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist with maintaining financial records, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Provide backup support for accounts payable functions and financial reporting activities.
- Assist with grant accounting, tracking, and audit documentation.
- Help monitor departmental budgets and financial performance.
- Maintain accurate financial documentation and records in accordance with organizational policies.
- Assist with payroll and audit preparation activities as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support financial operations and reporting needs.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelors degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems proficiency.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred
- Healthcare or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience.
- Grant accounting experience.
- Payroll processing and audit support experience.
