Staff Accountant

• Assist with SOX testing support, remediation efforts, and control enhancements.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls, improve efficiency, and reduce risk.
• Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Controller.  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience including AP, AR, general ledger, and month-end close responsibilities.
• Experience working in a SOX-compliant or public company environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.

Work Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described herein represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will work in an office environment as well as on the plant floor. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in precarious places. This position is occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; the employee is occasionally required reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
