Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support the accounting functions of a busy manufacturing company. This position will assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, financial close activities, internal controls, and audit preparation.
This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional looking for a part-time position with a consistent 20-hour workweek.
Responsibilities
Perform month-end close activities and prepare journal entries.
Maintain and update accounts receivable.
Maintain and update accounts payable.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Prepare and maintain monthly financial close workbooks.
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal accounting controls.
Ensure accounting procedures comply with applicable GAAP/IFRS standards.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and financial information.
Review accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
Support the accounting team with additional projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
2 years accounting experience required.
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience with journal entries and month-end close processes.
Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Manufacturing or industry experience is a plus.
