The Corporate Staff Accountant is a key member of the Reliance Corporate Accounting team who supports core accounting operations, financial reporting, and close processes. This role assists with financial analyses, account reconciliations, and preparation of schedules and reports. The Corporate Staff Accountant will work bidirectionally with various departments and plays an active role in supporting audit requests and continuous process improvement.
This position is well‑suited for a recent graduate or professional with 0-2 years of accounting experience who is detail‑oriented, analytical, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced corporate environment.

• Assist with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year‑end reporting and close activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Prepare financial and operational analyses for management review by collecting and aggregating data from multiple sources.
• Support the preparation and distribution of internal management reports and close packages.
• Assist in reviewing subledger (AP, AR, Inventory) and bank reconciliations for completeness and accuracy, including follow-up on reconciling items as needed.
• Help identify and explain period‑over‑period variances, unusual activity, or trends in account balances.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with internal controls and retention policies.
• Support external audit and internal audit requests by preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Accounting, Finance, and Operations teams to gather information and resolve questions.
• Participate in process improvement and standardization efforts to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in reporting.
• Adhere to company policies, internal controls, and safety procedures.
SUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned.
• Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Corporate Accounting team as needed.
Required Skills:
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• 0-2 years of accounting or finance experience preferred (including internships or part‑time roles).
Technical & Professional Skills
• Foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Additional strengths in follow-through, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem solving.

Compensation Range: The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $65,000.00/Yr. - USD $75,000.00/Yr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
