Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization supporting human services and retail programs, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team. Prepare and post general ledger entries and support month-end close activities
The Staff Accountant will perform account reconciliations and analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness
Run and analyze general ledger reports and financial activity
Prepare grant and contract billing, including cost reimbursement invoicing
Assemble payroll and expense detail for monthly invoices submitted to funding sources
The Staff Accountant will review financial information with Program Directors prior to invoice submission
Support quarterly spend-down reviews and grant compliance tracking
Partner with Program Managers regarding budgeting projections, spending activity, compliance matters, and audit support
Assist with audit preparation and supporting documentation
The Staff Accountant will provide support to the accounting team and assist with AP oversight as needed
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit or grant-funded environments
Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Grant billing or contract invoicing experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of general ledger activity and account analysis
Intermediate Excel skills required, including IF formulas, XLOOKUPs, and pivot tables
