Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the organization's financial records, ensuring accuracy in reporting, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes. The work ensures the organization remains compliant with GAAP while providing management with data needed for strategic decision‑making.Key Responsibilities Maintain and balance the general ledger by recording daily transactions and preparing journal entries.Assist the Controller and Finance Director with monthly financial reporting and the close process.Perform bank, G/L account, and other reconciliations.Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring all invoices and payments are processed accurately.Assist with internal and external audits by gathering documentation and preparing schedules, and help prepare tax filings and registrations.Identify inefficiencies in current accounting procedures and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and productivity.Qualifications 0–3 years of professional accounting experience preferred; entry‑level candidates with strong internships will be considered.Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software; proficiency in MS Excel.Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).High level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Prior experience in accounting or finance.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.Physical & Work Requirements Hybrid work schedule.Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.Frequent use of accounting and ERP systems and standard office equipment.Regular communication via phone, email, and virtual meetings.Ability to focus on detailed financial data for extended periods.Core Competencies Accuracy and attention to detail.Vendor communication and relationship management.Compliance and internal controls.Time management and prioritization.Team collaboration and problem solving.BPS is an equal opportunity employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
