Position Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Ronkonkoma, Long Island, NY (On-Site)

A well-established manufacturing company in Ronkonkoma is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment who understands inventory flow and basic cost accounting and is looking to continue developing their skills in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

Core Responsibilities:

Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations

Maintain and reconcile inventory-related general ledger accounts

Assist with cost accounting activities, including tracking product costs and cost allocations

Analyze inventory movements, adjustments, and variances

Support manufacturing accounting processes related to inventory and cost of goods sold

Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts; investigate and resolve variances

Prepare inventory and cost-related journal entries and supporting schedules

Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate financial data

Assist with audit preparation by providing inventory and cost documentation

Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

2-3 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (required)

Hands-on experience with inventory accounting and basic cost accounting

Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets

Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting preferred

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills

Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally

CPA is a plus but not required
