Very good work/life balance for an accounting job. Mostly 40 hours/week and very rarely over 45 hours even during close week. The company grew 50% from 2024 to 2025 with continued growth expected over the next several years. They are moving to a new central location near Clayton.
Job Description:
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist with preparation of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Track and reconcile project/job costs related to environmental field work, remediation projects, and service contracts
• Support billing processes, including time & materials, fixed-price, and project-based invoicing
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor and subcontractor payments
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
• Support Controller during financial statement audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and regulatory support materials
• Collaborate with operations and field leadership to ensure accurate financial information is being entered into the ERP system
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analyses
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable environmental and financial regulations
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience,
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
• Experience using an accounting based ERP system is a plus
