LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a client in Troy, Michigan that is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This is a fully on-site, contract-to-hire opportunity offering competitive compensation and the potential for long-term career growth with a stable and collaborative organization.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounting functions while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management functions

• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management review

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Maintain fixed asset schedules and related accounting records

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

• Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as needed

• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support business operations and financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting

• Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close activities

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with ERP or accounting software systems

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or corporate accounting environment

• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices

• Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation
