Position: Staff Accountant
Salary: $72K-$78K
Position Type: Full Time, Hybrid Schedule After Training Period

 

Overview

Altocare is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a range of accounting and financial tasks ensuring the accurate reporting of all financial transactions. To be successful, you should be familiar with the full cycle of accounting, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and have excellent organizational skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and assisting with the monthly close.
  • Contribute to the development of operating budgets.
  • Maintaining supporting documentation for all transactions.
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Responding to information requests from the accounting and finance team as well as other departments.
  • Assisting the Senior Accountant and Controller as needed.
  • Assistance with ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Maintain subsidiary ledgers to support general ledger balances.
  • Process accounts payable invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
  • Review and categorize expense reports and receipts.
  • Provide support during the financial statement audit by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably SAGE Intacct) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Working with bank reconciliations
  • Strict attention to detail, highly organized, and efficient.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Meet deadlines timely.
