We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. This person will report to our Controller and will work primarily on Bread Head, a rapidly growing fast casual restaurant chain that was named “LA's Next Great Sandwich Shop” by the Los Angeles Times. There will be substantial exposure to the Company's CEO and other members of the leadership team, as well as with the restaurant managers and hourly personnel. This person must have a positive attitude, be able to work in a professional office environment 5 days a week, and demonstrate a willingness to work hard to get the job done (with some rare work on weekends given the nature of the business). Experience in the restaurant and/or retail industry is a huge plus.ResponsibilitiesManage all AR and AP across the restaurants plus corporate (note, we use Bill.com)Close the books on a monthly basis and prepare accurate P&Ls, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow StatementsUpdate daily, weekly and monthly KPIs to help management better understand the business and key trendsOversee diligence efforts with prospective sources of capital (both debt and equity)Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principlesAssist the Controller with pricing, margin, inventory and cashflow analysis as neededResponsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulationsMaintain reporting of our fixed assets and tracking of capital projectsProcess and record payroll for each restaurant plus corporate (note, we use Toast and Paychex)Prepare and file sales tax & business taxes and assist with ensuring compliance with legal requirements by jurisdictionSet up new restaurant entities in QuickBooks, Bill.com, Toast, etc.QualificationsDegree from a top tier undergraduate university and strong academic track record7+ years of hands‑on accounting experience, ideally with some in the fast casual restaurant industryHighly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel – including pivot tables, v‑lookups, model developmentExperience with QuickBooks, Bill.com, Toast, Paychex, etc. (or similar software)Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and qualityExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong knowledge of accounting principlesA self‑starter, but is also highly effective in team environmentsAble to multi‑task and prioritize with efficiencyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAble to support multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlinesMust have a solutions‑orientation when problem solving and able to demonstrate a sense of urgency#J-18808-Ljbffr
