SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will primarily focus on accounts payable (AP) and general cashiering duties, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a high degree of integrity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests in accordance with company policies.
- Review invoices for accuracy, appropriate coding, and proper approvals.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain vendor records, including W-9 forms and payment information.
- Assist with monthly AP accruals and ensure proper cut-off of expenses.
- Support annual 1099 preparation and reporting.
- General Cashier
- Manage daily cash deposits and reconcile cash receipts against system reports.
- Monitor petty cash funds, ensuring proper documentation and replenishment.
- Prepare and record daily bank deposits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls related to cash handling and safeguarding of funds.
- Support treasury functions, including monitoring and reporting of cash balances.
- General Accounting Support
- Assist with month-end close by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits and internal reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Contribute to process improvements for efficiency, accuracy, and internal control.
- Assist with payroll ensuring all timesheets are accurate & approved.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, with emphasis in accounts payable or cashiering preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., M3, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and internal team interactions.
- High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
