Job Description

Johnson Service Group is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including account reconciliations, payroll tax reporting, commission and income reporting, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with Excel, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

This position is paying $30/hr to $32/hr and will be located in our company headquarters in Westmont, IL.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Assist senior accountant with month end closing procedures, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Reconcile and file payroll tax amounts for weekly, monthly and quarterly liabilities.
• Calculate and distribute monthly commission reports for production staff
• Reconciliation and distribution of weekly income reports to VPs
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
• Assist with other accounting tasks as assigned by supervisor

Staff Accountant Qualifications:

• 1-3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a Staff Accountant role or similar
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
